This is just to introduce myself to any other graphite users who are following the discussion forums. (I hope at least the developers are!)
I'm a graduate student in Astronomy, using Numerical Python in my work. I've been looking for a good scientific plotting package. I've tried Gnuplot, gist, and pgplot, but none of these were entirely satisfactory so I kept looking and found graphite. So far using it has been fun and it appeals to my "adventurous python hacker" inclinations.
Before discovering Numpy I used Matlab for the same kind of work. I found the Matlab graphics capabilities very nice, and I'm hoping to see some more Matlab-like functionality added to Graphite in the future.
Thanks for listening...
