Currently I have lots of images in a folder structure like this:

2003
-- summer
-- Roma
2004
-- Paris
2005

It would be nice with a keybinding that allows me to mark an image
so that I can either view all of the marked images as a collection or
collect them in a new folder. This must work across different
folders.

Right now I'm going to create printouts for the 2004 album :-).

Thanks for a great program!

The newest version of GQview (1.5.7) adds collection
building to the sort manager (Control + S).

Marking images across folders would be very problematic (to
implement), but the keywords feature could be used to mark
the images then later retrieve them with the search dialog.
Keywords can be assigned in the keywords sidebar (Control + K).

Thanks, the sort manager makes the work easier. I can't see why it would
be problematic to implement a "mark"-function. It's just a list of files that you
can choose to do some operation on (f.ex. copy or move to folder). The list
only exist as long as gqview is running.

The keyword approach could be used, but this is gqview specific and not
    usable with other programs later.
