when I insert my creative nomad jukebox zen xtra firmware 2.10.03, appears a dialog box asking what to do and I select open it with gnomad2 and cann't detect my nomad. I already installed all the additional packages refered ti in the site. thanks in advance.

I managed to connect my Zen Micro by unmounting the player before running Gnomad. i'm also on ubuntu 9.10.
I recently made a thorough overhaul of Gnomad2, removing many bugs, as a result I think it has been re-adopted to Debian (it was staged for removal). Can you please try the 2.9.6 version and see if the problem persists?
