I have read various topics that state that Gutenprint does not currently support laser printing in color. In particular, I am trying to use the Generic PCL 5e driver to print to a Dell 3100cn (the pxlcolor driver is very slow when printing large pages), but I am only able to print in B&W.
Are there any plans to implement color support in the future?

There's nobody on the team currently with the interest, time, and expertise to work on it. It's probably a fairly significant amount of work, but we're talking weeks or months, not years.

Unfortunately, we currently have no one to work on color support for laser printers. Unless someone steps up to work on this, we won't be able to do it.
Thanks for the prompt reply. Is it work that could be sponsored? Or do you just not have anyone available regardless? Is it a big job?
