#2 Need help to combine parts of an image into a whole

I've taken 8 macro photos with a professional camera of a paper drawing, because zooming out doesn't have the required level of detail. I need to automatically move and rotate each one of them, partly overlapping if necessary to get the bigger image.

What Image Registration does actually is apparently nothing. I open all images one on each layer and at the end of the process they all remain the same in the same position one over each other.

Finally I've solved it with the following software:

Adobe Bridge CC -> select all images to combine -> Tools -> Photoshop -> Load files into Photoshop layers

Photoshop CC -> select all layers -> Edit -> Auto-align layers -> Auto -> OK

Now I've got what I need, and can save the image as png.
