When a Gerber/Excellon file is opened and then exported to a new file, the units are always changed to inches. It happens even if the output and input file formats are the same.
This leads me to think that internally, gerbv converts everything to inches instead of working on the original units used in the file. If that is the case, it should probably be changed.
