IPR001925 is mapping tom40 O13656 (protein improt complex)

to
voltage-gated anion channel activity (molecular_function)
Definition: "Catalysis of the transmembrane transfer of an anion by a voltage-gated channel. An anion is a negatively charged ion. A voltage-gated channel is a channel whose open state is dependent on the voltage across the membrane in which it is embedded."

    Thanks Val,
It appears that Pfam entry PF01459 is hitting Tom40 proteins as well as the
voltage-dependent anion channels (VDACs). The two types of protein are related (see PMID:22178864), but the Tom40s form part of the TOM complex and don't have the voltage-gated activity. I've moved the Pfam entry into a new InterPro entry (IPR027246 Eukaryotic_porin/Tom40) and given it more general GO terms relating to transmembrane transport. It is now a parent of the original entry (IPR001925), which is now based only on the PRINTS and PROSITE entries that are specific for the VDACs, so the GO terms for this entry should be correct and should not be propagated to the wrong proteins in future.
