It is currently hard-wired in the registry to add BIRT and DEAT.

Since I have not added an option page, I should describe how to change this manually (on Windows).
To change the list of events it adds automatically when you add a new person, add this key in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\net\sourcef orge\gdbi\editor\bk tags
It normally does not exist, and it defaults to:
NAME SEX BIRT DEAT
If you don't want DEAT, which is the most common complaint, under bk, set the value name "tags" to the data "NAME SEX BIRT"
