#2115 Status line to display number of selected nodes

I'd like to have status-bar display the number of selected nodes (like Excel, which displays the number of selected cells and more).

Use case: e.g. When I quick filter nodes based on some criteria, I'd like to know how many nodes apply to that criteria: This could be easily done if status bar displayed the number of selected nodes. Then I could select all filtered out nodes and see how many suited the filter criteria, etc.

This would also put status-bar to some good use.
