#2255 The new Automatic edge colour behaviour is inconsistent

I am trying to create new map templates, using the new automatic edge colouring options. So, I create a set of Automatic Level Styles from the Style Editor and assign the desired edge colours. Then I set the map options to:

Apply level styles: disabled
Automatic edge colour: for columns

However, this creates same coloured children for a sequence of levels, although each level has been assigned a different colour from the styles menu.

e.g. For a single branch with the above options, level 1 starts with the root node edge colour style and repeats for 3 levels, then level 2 edge colour style repeats for 5 levels and level 3 edge colour style repeats along 5 levels, and so on.

Note that my template is based on the earlier standard template and not on the new 'Big Map'; if this makes any difference.
