#638 HPTRR blocking AOC-SAT2-MV8
The Highpoint RocketRaid driver incorrectly identifies the SuperMicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 SATA card and attempts to access the card. This blocks the proper driver from accessing it.
This is confirmed by FreeBSD bug #136750

Given the current RC1 status of the 0.7 release, I am reporting this in hopes that the HPTRR driver will be dropped from the FreeNAS default build, or at the very least, the option to disable the driver could be added to the system prior to the final 0.7 release.
The SuperMicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 controller has gained great popularity in the community due to its 8 SATA ports, OpenSolaris support, and consequent ZFS support. It is my opinion that a ZFS implementation in FreeBSD will be missing a significant portion of its potential target audience without functional support for this card.
