#990 Close 4DIAC

Sometimes when you are going to close 4DIAC you are receiving error message box, unhanded exception error, I tried to figure out what is the background error in command line and I got it this error:

createErrorOverlayImage 1

You can see at the below picture.

I'm sorry but in such situations the command line is not helping. As already stated in case of exceptions please add the .log file to your bug reports.

in your workspace there is a directory .metadata and there is the a .log file

Sorry this is my 4DIAC work space directory where is it .metadata ?

under linux files and folders starting with a '.' are hidden files. to see them you need to enable that hidden files are shown.

sorry Alois I am trying to help your product but unfortunately my linux is like my c coding. I could not find any file .log still yet

.log is hidden again. BTW I just saw that you are using 1.6.2. 1.6.x is not maintained any more.

Could you please update to 1.7.0 and report if you still see this bug.

I tried to use this version but I am receiving the below error when I am going to run 4DIAC-IDE:

Do I need install new version of Java Runtime or etc. ?

I googled a bit on your error message. But I didn't find a clear answer. There are several issues this could be:

• What version of JRE are you running (java --version). Please note that you need Java 1.7, neither 1.6 or 1.8 will work
• have you downloaded the 64Bit or 32Bit version of 4DIAC-IDE. You should use the 64 Bit version.
