Downloaded fresh and tried to build via ./configure.
make fails with:

Whats with the .libs/.libs? Looks like an extra .libs
in there.

I saw this too on RH 9. I 'fixed' it by:
cd test/.libs
ln -s . ./libs
Total hack though...
