My old Sony Ericsson T616 model connects to the Mobile Agent just fine, but when I got my Ericsson Z500a and tried to connect it, it would not work. It won't even recognize that there is a phone attached to the cable.
I have FMA working with my Z500a, over a DCU-11 cable.
Do you have the Sony Ericsson driver for the z500a installed? It's necessary. Then you have to check in Device Manager to see what COM port it's using and enter that into FMA's settings. See the FMA guide (http://fma.sourceforge.net/resources/docs/floAtDoc.pdf) for more detailed info.
