The ruby source tarballs include a ruby-mode for Emacs.
This patch augments the 10.4 unstable ruby18 finkinfo
file (1.8.4-1004) to include a ruby18-emacs package
that installs ruby-mode according to Fink's Emacs
installation policy.
Status update: I still have not heard anything from the maintainers about this patch; two Ruby releases (1.8.5 and 1.8.6) have been made in the meantime, though, so it doesn't seem like it's abandoned.
