A new version of filofant, the email archive and
document indexing server, is released.

This release contains enhancements and bugfixes

Major enhancement is the use of the ICU library for handling text
in different charsets/languages.
Also some changes in the setup possibilities are done, mainly the
definition of a default document path (/usr/local/filofant) when
FILOFANT_HOME is not defined. This default location can be changed
while configuring the package.
For installations where the database is not located at the same host
as the import process or no db superuser can be used, the bulk loading
of the fulltext information (COPY) can be done via network now. See

Bugfixes are done mostly in context of new database version PostgreSQL 8.3.
Also some performance issues with large database queries are solved.
Bugs in templates and template loading while installing are fixed.

Characterset handling for non UTF-8 emails is enhanced, also some

Enhancements concerning the database connection to PostgreSQL, the client encoding will now be recognized automatically, also the string quoting is modified to match PgSQL Version > 8

A new binary for resolving system variables
without password query changes access to system
settings in scripts for cronjobs. This allows a
tighter security setting for the database.

Internal references in html previews will now
be translated correctly to the filofant preview

Bugfixes concerning the search and the display of objects
are fixed, including an error in the permission check system
for the object detail page.
The bug leading to missing thumbnails of stored graphics is

A new version of filofant, an email and document indexing server, is released.

For this release we changed the template system to alter the CSS inclusion and change link color off already seen objects.
Also the query statements are changed when only public permission grous are availible. This leads to better performance for this queries, too.

This releases includes bugfixes in the key generation which fails in past releases when a reverse lookup of the hostname was not possible.

A new filofant version fixing multiple bugs in the indexing process and one (highly recommended) bug in the HTML templates is released.

This release includes also some performance updates for fulltext index queries.

filofant has released a new bugfix release 1.1.1, including the following fixes:

#1454107: after logout the filofant search mask is displayed
#1475329 (dir for not imported mails is not created automatically)
Changed charset handling in query and mail form for using UTF-8 as standard charset.
#1487373: filofant looses mails when no message-id is included

filofant has reached a new minor release by implementing one of the most customer-wanted functions.
It is now possible to retrieve the original archived mail by forwarding it to an external SMTP account.

Fixing Bug #1440224: filofant quits without notice for some formtypes

The software has been tested and evaluated by a few customers since beginning of december 2005. After resolving all issues which turn up in this period, we are proud to present the stable version 1.0.0 of filofant.
