FastChat source is now maintained with Subversion.

To check it out, try the short documentation at
http://fastchat.sourceforge.net/doc/

Currently it compiles well unter linux, win32 should work, but the VC++ project file is out of date.

There are many bugs, i hope i'll find the time to fix them and implement the features in the TODO[1] list.

FastChat2 is developed, it is a complete rewrite. Currently there are many features missing, but the main part is done, it has a new GTK+ and compiles fine under windows and linux.

The first goals are:
-the same feature-level as the old version
-tabs! (a part is already included)
-fix bugs ;-)

If you want to see some code, view check out the fc2 folder in the cvs repository.

Newest version is now under CVS.

added version control to protocol (not complete)
added parameter to exe file to select broadcast address
fixed startup / send / receive bugs, now 2 sockets are used to communicate with the network
nick changing now works fine (currently not saved at shutdown)
added start parameter to select broadcast address (now its time to make a config file!)
added versionscheck and now wrong/unknown cmds received are shown (but only the first 10 messages)
now users are shown that they left fastchat, if they kill their computer (fastchat has now a internal list of users)
added direct scrolling "shortcuts" (page up / down you can now scroll the directly messages when msg edit has focus)
added popup menu, now fastchat is minimized when "X" is clicked :-)
added away/dnd (sorry not complete yet)
added buildtime (version.h + version.c)
fixed many bugs

i've uploded fastchat 0.0011. updates are few, but sourcecode structure has completely changed.

Fastchat is an easy to use UDP chat program.

now you can change the icons. (lateron skins?!)

Version 0.007 includes some bugfixes + added features

• Network traffic now isn't higher if there are more users from ping/pongs
• fixed leave bug
• added topic + bugs with it :-)
• fixed some small bugs

Yeah, first working version is out!
