When "Save drafts encrypted" is activated, it seems that even mails that should be sent unencrypted get sent encrypted in 1.8 (had no issues with 1.7.2)

I just drafted a message to an internal mailing list, and after sending, it was crypted. Obviously only with my key, as the destination address has no available public key.

Upon disabling "Save drafts encrypted", the problem vanishes

That's the specified behavior. You can disable encryption of drafts via the account settings. I.e. encrypting drafts does not depend anymore on whether or not you enabled encryption in the message

    Let me re-elaborate. ;-)

I draft a message to someone, who does not use PGP, and have neither encrypted signing nor crypting.

The draft is crypted with my key, as intended.

Upon sending the message, 1.7.2 sent the message unencrpted. 1.8 seems to send the message encrypted, but with MY key - in other words: The recipient gets his message undecipherable.

I see ... yes I can confirm this.

When will this fix be available in Thunderbird add-ons? The issue is very annoying.

It is. On enigmail.net. It always takes some days until mozilla folks tested new addons before they approve it on addons.mozilla.org.

    I see this behaviour in 1.7.2 (Fedora 21 RPM thunderbird-enigmail.x86_64 1.7.2-1.fc21).

@Ralf, the culprit has been found and fixed. Please uninstall your Distribution's Enigmail and manually install the current version (currently 1.8.1) from enigmail.net (or 1.8.2 beta) - or ask the maintainer to update your distrubution's Enigmail.
