Hello,
i've tried very much till now, so i hope u can help me
here.
I've got a debian woody 3.0 System with a audigy 1
installed.
But i can't get it to work :(
the first thing i tried is to install the emu10k1
driver (0.18 comes with debian kernel 2.4.18-bf24) in
the kernel with modconf insmod an modprobe. Didn;t
work, i allways got the same message :
/lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/drivers/sound/...
...emu10k1/emu10k1.o: init_module:
No such device.
Hint: insmod errors can be cause by incorrect module
parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
So can someone tell me wahet the IO settings are?
The IRQ can i find through "lspci" or am i wrong?
So the i came to the project site here, downloaded
emu-tools and emu10k1. And tried to compile them.
emu-tools worked fine. when i start it, it complains
about no /dev/mixer device. (But i think this is
because i have no emu10k1 driver yet installed, or am i
wrong?)
Then i tried to compile emu10k1. and this didnt work :(
i have downloaded the kernel headers and the kernel
sources for my kernel (2.4.18-bf2.4).
So when i start the make script this is the output:
"
make -Cscripts
make[1]: Entering directory
`/home/whitewater/emu10k1-v0.20a/scripts'
/lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/build directory does not
exist. Please edit the file 'config'
in this directory and set KERNEL_SOURCE to the correct
location of your
kernel source.
You are currently running kernel version 2.4.18-bf2.4,
the source code should
be for this version.
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/whitewater/emu10k1-v0.20a/scripts'
"
My kernel-source, that i downloaded is a
kernel-source-2.4.18.tar.bz2 in /usr/src . Is this all
right? Do i have to extract this?
The location of my kernel-source is this archive i
downloaded, so what shall i do?
Whats that about this build directory in
/lib/modules2.4.18-bf2.4/ ?
its not there in my os :(
DO I HAVE TO COMPILE THIS KERNEL-SOURCE TO GET THE
BUILD DIRECTORY?
Plz help, i want sound :) i need sound :) music is my
life :)
and i dont want windows any more :)

Hello ;)
I had the same Problem until i read the Manual :)
Just edit the file config in your emu10k1 directory,
and change the KERNEL_SOURCE -Line to:
KERNEL_SOURCE :=/usr/src/kernel-headers-2.4.18-bf2.4
Thats all ;)

Hallo,
I have a Audigy, too. It is very simple.
Now you can take this driver from:
remote control
or this
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php?company=Creative+Labs&card=Soundblaster+Audigy+Platinum&chip=Audigy&module=emu10k1
When you take the first driver and "make tools" don't works
then take this patch =>
