Here are a couple of basic story lines that have been thrown around by various people. I wanted to start a list here so we could pick the one which seems to offer the most possibilities.
Storyline 1: Character and his robot adventure together and with others in a future techno world to discover technology which will allow them to enhance their capabilites.
Storyline 2: Due to changes in the environment, it is not safe for you to be outside. Your only contact with the outside world is thru the eyes of your robot. You send your robot out into the world to preform tasks to generate energy credits you need in order to survive in your small command center. There are many paths to follow, but you have to decide which path is right for you (good or evil). There are many different corporations which can provide you and your robot with work. You can put your robot to work in an assembly line or go for the easy money and enter the world or corporate espionage.
Storyline 3: Your awake to find that you are a robot that is becoming self aware. You come to find out that you are based on a human brain and that if you aquire the technology, you can again become human. Later you find out that all the remaining humans are living on an orbiting space station. How will you aquire the technology to transform yourself? How will you reach the space station?

Your planet got destroyed in some sort of unknown attack. People from other planets come to rescue the survivors. You are given some credits and a robot that will act as your companion and aide. You both then set off to find out the cause of the attack and what had done it.
