Following the release of v18 Update 2, we have also updated the Call Flow
Designer (CFD). Now audio files generated through text to speech are cached
in the 3CX server, so subsequent requests to convert the same text are
resolved locally. We’ve also added components to allow you to parse CSV text
without using a C# script, or to transcribe audio from a WAV file into text.
In order to provide valuable feedback and service to our
customers, we are constantly analyzing the migration status/process of 3CX V16
(Debian 9) to V18 (Debian 10). We do this to identify common
pitfalls/errors that could affect the upgrade process. During recent analysis,
we have identified the two main issues that are responsible for systems
failing to upgrade: APT being locked, or unsupported third party source lists.... read more
The new Beta version of the 3CX App for Android now provides support for local
Emergency Numbers (e.g. Ambulance, Police, Fire) in accordance with Kari’s
Law and the Ray Baum Act.
Kari’s Law, a law which was passed and named in honor of the death of Kari
Hunt, requires direct dialing of local emergency numbers (e.g. 911). This
means the caller can dial 911 without having to add a prefix or access code.
In addition, the Ray Baum Act states that emergency calls must include
notification capabilities. Notification about the caller’s physical location

All partners and customers using IP-based SIP carriers can now use Hosted by
3CX , our fully managed
hosted solution. We’ve enabled over 100 IP-based providers, available with
their templates inside Hosted by 3CX. This makes the transition to our
hosting service even easier than before!
Registration-based trunks with no IP fixation remain the preferred option in a
hosted environment. This is because in certain cases the Public IP of your
Hosted by 3CX can change unexpectedly. Although this is not a regular
occurrence, if this happens, you will temporarily lose the ability to make and
receive calls via your IP-based trunks.... read more

3CX Live Chat offers an easy way to further
enhance a company\'s online presence and to help with buyer confidence. By
offering the ability to have a conversion with a live agent, customers are
instantly put at ease when making purchases or looking for the correct product
or service.
From the company’s standpoint, reports ensure chat messages are being dealt
with correctly. Customers should not be left waiting for a response. Missed or
abandoned chat messages could cause the loss of a sale via the web store or
the customer choosing to partner with a different company. Optimization of the
3CX Live Chat greeting and bubble placement on the website can be changed so
reports can be utilized to see if particular customization generates more or
less customer interaction.... read more
We’ve made upgrading even easier! Administrators can now upgrade end-of-life
version 15.5 instances directly to the latest V18 release.
Previously, when upgrading from version 15.5 to 18, admins needed to first
backup and restore the configuration onto a v16 instance. Then carry out the
same backup and restore process again from v16 to v18. Now they can skip the
middle step of upgrading to v16 entirely by going straight from v15.5 to v18.... read more

Microsoft Teams integration into 3CX allows calls to be made and received
using the 3CX phone system. Key benefits include offering a cost-effective
alternative to MS365’s calling plans and providing admins with a full-featured
PBX that’s much easier to use and configure than Teams.
Microsoft Teams phone system is an add on license feature per user. On top of this, to utilise the
system as a standalone PBX, companies are required to use Microsoft’s own
expensive calling plans or engage a 3rd party to ‘plug in’ a suitable SIP
trunk via Microsoft’s Direct Routing facility. This can all become very
expensive as they are based on a per-user, per-month model. By utilising 3CX
integration, businesses can access all the cost-saving benefits of the 3CX
licensing model and leverage cheaper SIP trunk
carriers.... read more
