Is there a way to get EffecTV to process pure MPEGs? I think that MPEG processing would be a good built-in feature. Or would it be possible to give EffecTV access to the standard codec formats (such as the win32 codecs mplayer uses) so that it could be used on plain files instead of only v4l?

EffecTV does not support MPEG files or any other v4l. We realize that movie playing feature would be useful, but not planed now.
