I used testdisk to recover a 4TB deleted partition. However, in two separate machines I have tried to use fsck, and both times (One PC with 2GB RAM, one with 16GB), e2fsck died with memory allocation errors.
I made a 3TB LVM to use as a scratch file, and set the stanza accordingly in /etc/e2fsck.conf. However, after some hours, it quits out again.
My questions are:
How do I know e2fsck is using the scratch file?
Is there a way to set the .conf so the scratch file is always in use first, if it already not?
My OS is Ubuntu 12.04.
Thank you!
