Dataweb don't work over browser (like firefox or iexplorer) but it need of dataweb client.
the demo application on dwprj.sourceforge.net download the dataweb client witten in java.
if you want start the client in the browser you must add link to jnlp file (see java webstart) link is http://yourserver:7720/client/dataweb.jnlp.
