Yes, this is possible. I know that in DSpace 1.5, in the config file look for
and set it to false. I am not yet familiar with 1.6, but I imagine the configuration would be similar.

I am working on a collection which is quite abstract- it's basically a 'collection of collections'. In some cases, the record is all metadata and doesn't specifically have a file to upload with it. Is it possible to bypass this step, and if so, how?
