Hi, Playing around with the newly-stable 3D for my rage128 (thanks so much, Gareth!), I noticed a funny quirk. It doesn't bother me - in fact the test is a little contrived, but for the record: I ran atlantis and sproingies simultaneously and overlapped the windows. When I did this, the sea creatures from atlantis would flicker through the black space in sproingies, so I'd have sharks swimming around the waterfall. Actaully, if you run the pipes screensaver, all the pipe elbows woul= d bleed through to my gnome-term. Almost as much fun as running two copies of lament in the same window. ;) Bill |

That bleed through has been around for a good while. I've caused it with gears and some of the standard demo programs. I doubt the recent fixes are related. Mike |

Code that relied on this (ie almost all the drivers) was broken by changes committed for the fullscreen functionality. I posted a message about this a few months ago. I thought I'd fixed all the drivers, but obviously not. You need to keep a driver private 'lastStamp' instead of relying on the one in dPriv. See the mga driver for an example. Keith |

Hi, I too have this problem - try loading gears and then running quake3 for an interesting overlay :P Actually on the subject of q3a, it's funny how the windows version running under wine with GL support is better for me than the native linux version. --jcm P.S. If anyone here uses ALSA and wine and has a nice "Playback" line to feed ALSA to get buffer sizes right, etc. please let me have it :) |
