All artists and graphic designers are invited to this public competition to design a new project logo for the new project that will supercede the current Drake CMS project.

= Project rebranding

A new project will be started to rebrand the Drake CMS project and continue its development.

The Drake CMS project development will terminate on 1 February 2008; development on the new project will begin in the same date or soon after. The Drake CMS project will still be supported for at least 2 months to minimize users confusion.

Drake CMS v0.4.10 Beta RC6 has been released.

This version is a major stabilization and feature enhancement update for version 0.4.9 RC5; it contains many bugfixes, security enhancements and major improvements. Users are invited to update their previous Drake CMS software.

I would like to publicly thank users consc198, stigi, rsavarese, awrog, omer-singer and all the others for the deep testing, interfaces improvements/suggestions and security auditing which lead to the quality results of this release, possibly the last Release Candidate and ready to become Stable. Also people which has not been mentioned here is working hard for the success of this project, like our always active translators.

Drake CMS v0.4.1 Beta release

The continuing efforts on the part of our developers and testers have led to this stabilization update of v0.4.0; the security of Drake CMS has further been hardened. The ongoing eradication of bugs and continued work on the usability of components and modules is constantly progressing and leading to a better Drake CMS.

Update contents

All users of Drake CMS v0.4.0 are strongly encouraged to update because of the 2 important vulnerabilities fixed in v0.4.1. This release also addresses many bugs and contains improvements on both features and general security.

A very large effort on the part of our lead developer legolas558 (Daniele C.), development of templates by rsavarese and the mighty efforts of a small band of testers, billyv in particular, has pushed Drake CMS to reach the stage of this v0.4.0 Beta. Drake CMS v0.3.8 Beta revision 2436 has been released.

This is a huge feature enhancement, bugfix and security hardening update for Drake CMS; it is strongly suggested to all v0.3.7 users to update because version 0.3.7 is affected by vulnerabilities exploitable when PHP register_globals setting is On (as suggested during installation, if you are able to modify the PHP configuration you should always turn it Off).... read more

Due to a bug in v0.3.6 it is impossible to update through remote urls or file uploads, the only method left is the update from a local (server) directory.

This bug will *not* allow installation of the automatic update to version 0.3.7, please follow these instructions to get the update working through a local (server) directory.

* get the update zip file from http://drakecms.sourceforge.net/updates.php?pid=update_from_v0.3.6_to_v0.3.7
* extract the content into a local folder, named for example 'upd037'
* put the 'upd037' folder in your server /private/ folder
* go to the admin backend page /admin.php?com_option=patch&task=new
* click on the local directory tab
* enter 'private/upd037' there
* click install... read more

Drake CMS v0.3.7 Beta revision 1982 has been released.

All Drake CMS v0.3.6 Beta users can update directly from their administrative backend as usual.

This is a stabilization release that will fix a lot of annoyances and in particular a bug affecting database restores which could corrupt UTF-8 characters (see previous news); all users are invited to get this new version in order to better preserve their data integrity and take advantage of the improvements.... read more

Restoring a database backup with the above versions of Drake CMS will lead to UTF8 characters corruption and unrequired duplication of single quotes; Drake CMS itself will not report the database backup version number, so the best method to know it is to open the file and look to the first line.... read more
