why not write the win32 application first, this gives us a basis to start from later for a web application. We could write the web application as an ISAPI dll, and maybe utilized the code from win32 application then? There are many components that can convert a delphi form to html for us also, so again having the win32 application developed first would be the best option in my opinion. Jason |

Hello, and welcome to the disastersys general newsgroup. I would like to start a discussion on this mailing list regarding the desktop application and the database. I had origionally intended on using a normal win32 application, talking to an interbase server. Several people have raised questions about this, so I would like to discuss the possibility of using a browser based application, and a Microsoft SQL2000 database backend. I am open to all ideas, keeping in mind that the remote terminal, and its server will be written in delphi. If the desktop app is going to be a browser based application, can anyone make some suggestions on what technologies should be used (WebSnap, Delphi WebModules, ASP, VBScript, DHTML, Flash, etc.)? Thank you, and welcome, Joe _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp |
