Speech and Debate Timekeeper 2.3 Released

Speech and Debate Timekeeper version 2.3 has been released for Windows, Linux/Unix, Mac OS X, Palm OS, and Pocket PC/Windows Mobile platforms. Speech and Debate Timekeeper is a multi-platform timer for speech and debate competitions. It keeps track of speech order, time limits, and prep time for various debate formats (e.g., Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, Parliamentary, Public Forum, Karl Popper, Worlds, etc.) and individual events. It gives visual and spoken time signals at user defined intervals. It is written in Java and uses SuperWaba.

The user interface style has been updated to look the same on all platforms. Other GUI enhancements include an always-on-top window useful for keeping time while taking notes on the computer, a button for quickly viewing prep time, and a color coded start/stop button. It now works on Windows Mobile Standard smartphones without touch screens.

The National Forensics Association (NFA) Lincoln-Douglas debate format with 6-7-6-6-3 speech time structure has been added.

The spoken time signals are less verbose during speeches. For example, instead of saying "one minute left," it now says "one minute."

Please see the change log for further details.
