Speech and Debate Timekeeper 2.2 Released

Speech and Debate Timekeeper version 2.2 has been released for Windows, Linux/Unix, Mac OS X, Palm OS, and Pocket PC/Windows Mobile platforms. Speech and Debate Timekeeper is a multi-platform timer for speech and debate competitions. It keeps track of speech order, time limits, and prep time for various debate formats (e.g., Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, Parliamentary, Public Forum, Karl Popper, Worlds, etc.) and individual events. It gives visual and spoken time signals at user defined intervals. It is written in Java and uses SuperWaba.

An illustrated user manual is included with this release in PDF format.

The prep time for Lincoln-Douglas has been updated to 4 minutes. This is the new rule for the National Forensics League since mid-2007.

It is now possible to display the prep times for both sides of a debate at any time. This new feature is accessed through the View drop down menu.

Spoken time signals are turned on by default for policy debates only. For all other events, time signals are silent by default, except for prep times and the first and last minutes of constructive speeches in parliamentary debates. Audio settings for time signals can be accessed through the Options drop down menu.

Please see the change log for further details.
