I was looking at feature request 69 and think I may be experiencing a similar issue.

I have been struggling to get emails to display properly on iDevices for some time. I'm running DavMail (latest - 4.4.1-2225) as a service from the no-inst package. Previously I had been running it as a desktop application, but found too much instability (app crash/freeze/hang generally once a day). Connects to Exchange 2010 OWA backend and seems to do a great job EXCEPT for when it hits a BASE64/UTF-8 encoded email. Then I get something like the following:

From: "Smith, John" john.smith@organization.org
Date: February 26, 2014 12:24:36 PM EST
To: "Smith, Bob A." bob.smith@organization.org
Cc: "Smith, Brian" brian.Smith@organization.org, "Ray, Andy L." Andy.Ray@organization.org

I will add that this seems to be exclusive to iOS devices. Android mail clients and Thunderbird seem to render properly. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to render the mail more friendly for iOS display?

Thanks,
Andy

Further testing on multiple iDevices shows the problem across the board with all iDevices (iOS 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x).

Also - as of today I have found that the issue specifically occurs with the Windows version of DavMail which I had been running in parallel on my Exchange 2010 server. Having performed a fresh install on Ubuntu Server I was able to pull mail on an iDevice without issue.

Note sure if this could be related, but I recently upgraded JavaMail to 1.5.6
