CUB goes Public!

Cub, the "Combined Utilities for Beowulf" project,
is pleased to announce the immediate availability
of our first Beta kit!

Cub is designed to build Beocubs: small, simple
Beowulf clusters. Cub builds on the excellent
work done by the Scalable Cluster Environment
project of the Parallel Research Group at the
University of Kasetsart, Thailand (see
http://smile.cpe.ku.ac.th/research/sce/index.html\)
and the LUI Linux Utility for cluster Installation
project sponsored by IBM (see
http://www-4.ibm.com/developerworks/projects/lui\).
Cub also takes advantage of the system packaging
work done by Red Hat Software (http://www.redhat.com).

This first version of cub supports both IA32 and
Alpha clusters of up to 128 nodes.

We are actively seeking project members to help:

- Take better advantage of the SCE tools
- Port and test other systems
- Fix some of the dumb things we did in this
release!
