I'm used to do live demos of java applications. I sometimes want to explain details in text or graphics. To save me from ALT+TABbing into OpenOffice Impress I need a software which can display this information atop of another window (the app I am demoing). You could compare it to a heads-up-display (HUD) in front of the screen - or a windowless presentation software, decoration- and backgroundless over the application being demoed.
I could very well have my live-demo "slides" in the form of alpha-channel PNGs. I started adding minimize-to-tray functionality to your cthruview (see attached file) but I realized three things:
1) when minimizing the main Frame to tray (right-click on tray icon, toggle visibility), the frame with the PNG is hidden as well - is there anything that could be done against it?
2) the file to be shown would have to become a list of PNGs to be shown, as it would not be sufficient to show only one "slide" and
3) it must be possible to navigate (preferably with hotkeys) to the next respectively previous PNG in this list.
do you think that could be done with cthruview?
thanks
Jochen
