I've looked a bit into code and started to improve the 2D View. I'll also have a look at other parts we will need for a more or less comfortable object handling and placement tool. I'll inform you if I make significant progress. |

Hi Jaii! CStudio development is quite slow at the moment (shame on me). I also have to admit that there no real one-way for the user interface yet, but the internal structure is (imho) quite clear. There are defined Interfaces for the plugins, and basically most of what CStudio is lacking are plugins and Documentation. I've been quite busy with university over the year, but I'm still planning on a comeback this fall at the latest (maybe / prolly earlier).. IIRC Jan Leppert is working on the thing-edit mode for placing stuff etc. Personally I'm thinking about a shader editor when coming back. Greetings, Phil On Sat, 2 Jul 2005 12:12:56 +0200 "Jaii der Herr" <Jai...@ho...> wrote: > I am a member of the OpenOutcast Team (http://www.openoutcast.de) > > As we need an simple editor for placing Objects to terrain I thought of > codevelopment with CStudio. I am a member of the OpenOutcast Team (http://www.openoutcast.de) As we need an simple editor for placing Objects to terrain I thought of codevelopment with CStudio. At the moment I need information about on what is worked right know and how team is in contact with each other (didn't find an forum and the mailing list is not really used regularly) The concept of code and user interface isn't clear to me too. |

Hi Jan! Basically you could use the normal icssCreateView Interface. I don't see any troubles with that. hi phil! i didn't forget it, just added it some hours later. currently i am working on a single-frame windowmanager which should be ready the next days. now the console and the side-panel frame should be made pluginable so that the windowmanager can put them where it wants to. but i'm not sure what interface to use for that - perhaps icssCreateToolWindow ? greets, jan --- Philipp Aumayr <ph...@ra...> schrieb: > hi! great you ported it, but could it be that you > forgot to add the windowmanager directory in the > plugins folder to cvs ? > > thx, > phil > > On Fri, 11 Feb 2005 01:03:39 +0100 > Philipp Aumayr <ph...@ra...> wrote: > > > Not me atm altough I said i would... would be > greate if you could get this done! > > > > thank you, > > Phil > > > > On Tue, 8 Feb 2005 18:43:23 +0100 (CET) > > Jan Lepper <de...@ya...> wrote: > > > > > hi, > > > is anybody working on putting cssWindowManager > into an > > > own plugin ? - if not, i whould like to do > this... > > > > > > greets, > > > jan > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ___________________________________________________________ > > > > Gesendet von Yahoo! hi! indeed, it would be possible by moving cssWindowManager and cssChildFrame into it's own plugin, I'm going to look into that the next few days! cya, phil On Tue, 2005-01-11 at 08:30, Jan Lepper wrote: > hi all, > > well, i think it whould be good to have the choice > between muli toplevel-window layout and integrating > the client windows into the mainframe. > this could probably be archived by moving stuff like > cssWindowManager in an own plugin. > > greets > Jan > > > > > > > ___________________________________________________________ > Gesendet von Yahoo! hi all, well, i think it whould be good to have the choice between muli toplevel-window layout and integrating the client windows into the mainframe. this could probably be archived by moving stuff like cssWindowManager in an own plugin. greets Jan ___________________________________________________________ Gesendet von Yahoo! hi everybody! I finally managed to get myself on my own mailing list :) Anyhow, to give you a little status update on CStudio, here's what's I'm working on atm: Currently all modifications (speaking the meshmoving) is decentralized across plugins... To ensure undo and redo capability we need a way to record actions taken.. I therefore started working on an icssActionManager + icssAction interface. Every action that changes something in the world will have to pass through this interface. Actions will be implemented by deriving from icssAction. a few actions are already done... should be good enough for templates I wasn't happy with the current way things are selected in view2d... it puts too much load on the view2d plugin... so i created a new interface icssSelector which will take care of checking which object is hit by a beam, is within a selection bounding etc. It also has a the definition of a selection pool, although this has to be extended quite a bit more. I'm not happy with the drawing in view2d atm. it's a big mess, I'm about to clean this up in the next view days. adding something like draw flags so that the edit modes have finer control of what's drawn. For instance, it doesn't make sense to draw non-thing meshes full white since they're only considered partially for things. I might also come up with some clever callback system for the drawing, but i have to sleep over those ideas a bit more. Ok, just showing cstudio is far from dying :), cya, Phil |
