Just installed 5.0.1 onto an Acer Aspire Netbook running Linpus (a Fedora derivative) linux.
Installed great but starting CQRLOG I get a problem - every time I type I get 2 characters instead of 1. So my callsign appears as GG00UUKKBB if I try to log myself as a test.
This also happens in the Preferences options (ie changing the rig baud rate to 4800, 44880000 was entered. Entering test text in the font option boxes, however, worked OK

Delete /home/user/cqrlog
try new install again, when show Complete new install or upgrade from prievous version
select new.
In field /home/user/cqrlog/
write something(after /home/user/cqrlog/)If the letters are doubled Ctrl+Space Tab and try again work for me!!!

Jose - thank you. That didn't work for me. ctrl-space+tab did work on the install panel and stopped echoed characters there but when cqrlog runs if I use ctrl-space-tab I get Chinese characters!
But I do have a work around. When cqrlog has started then if I right-click on any data entry field (for example the Call field) I get a pop-up menu with Input Methods as an option. Expanding this I find that the program is using "SCIM Bridge Input Method". If I change this to either "Default" or "X Input Method" then all works OK
Does anyone know if there is any way I can config cqrlog to always use either my system default or the X Input Method without having to do this every time I start cqrlog?
Thanks Jose - I wouldn't have gone looking without knowing you'd got it working.
