HI,
I have been using Chicken for a couple of years to remote to an iMac with
OS X in another city and love it. I has been working great!
But I just migrated from a G4 to a G5 and I loaded the updated Chicken
on my new machine with the same settings as the G4 but it won't connect
to the IP address & port. I comes back with: Could not connect to server.
And it has :11801 after the IP address and I am trying to connect through
port 5901. So I don't know what means. But I can't give up my old
machine until I get this problem solved because I have to remote in on a
daily basis.
Could it be that the new version is not working with the old client on the
other machine? I'm stumpted. I did trash it and reload and try again but
no change.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chicken 2.0b4 uses _either_ host:port notation _or_ a display number. So if you
want to connect to port 5901, you either specify display 1 or host:5901.

Julia - 11801 looks like 5900+5901. Have you tried putting
just 1 in the port number field?
