Connection attemps send Wake-On-Lan?

I have several computers running VNC servers, but to save power
and their hard drives from constantly spinning, I have them sleep
after an hour. All Macs and most PCs now support waking from
sleep with administrator ethernet access, by sending a Wake-on-Lan
packet. I use a seperate utility to send the packet and then connect
with VNC, but it would be great if you had the option of sending a
WOL packet before the client tries to connect to the server, with a
few second delay. There are many java applets that send WOL
packets, I don't think it would be too difficult. Thanks for the amazing
application!

I was going to send the exact same comment; however, I use a router and
routers seem to smash WOL in either direction whether a VPN is in effect or
not.
Nevertheless WOL ought to be integrated with this app; if VNC can capture a
host's MAC and store it for later this should be trivial.
...But also remind users that routers firewall WOL pretty strongly.
