I am very proud to announce the 1.0 release of Ristretto, the low level java mail library.
Ristretto supports SMTP, POP3, IMAP, SSL, SASL and implements all related parsers.

As new features we added support for
Digest-MD5 Authentication
Cram-MD5 Authentication

Now there are a new release of JSCF, the java security component framework available. JSCF featuring pluggable security components under a JDBC like framework.

the release includes

* new url style to connect to the included GPG component to aviod problems on windows
* complete rewritten communication with the external gpg process to avoid hanging on large mail encryption and to improve the performance on the communication
* any updates in the documentation to clearify the url stuff
* more test cases to reproduce knowing bugs

Here comes the second release candidate for the 1.0 version of Ristretto. New and noteworthy features are: implementation of the IMAP Namespace extension (RFC 2342), asynchronous download of messages from POP3, license changed to tri-license MPL/LGPL/GPL and more JavaDocs added.

Ristretto is the mail api that is used by Columba. Available as a stand-alone API Ristretto provides a well tested, slim and fast Java implementation of all relevant mail protocols.... read more

This version features much improved filtering capabilities. Filters can be moved and copied between folders using drag'n'drop, you can import/export filters, change the ordering of filters and enable/disable individual filters. The message-list viewer now supports message colouring, customizeable columns and drag'n'drop of messages between folders. A plugin-based folder configuration was introduced, giving users a powerful way of customizing individual folder's behaviour. Folders can remember their current selection, filtering, sorting, etc. state. IMAP subscription handling is completly integrated, IMAP Junk flag support was added.... read more
