Hi all.

I'm planning to create an image of vista so I can deploy in other computers and I would like to know if the following is possible:

* Backup a partition of Vista installed in sda2
* Restore this image to another computer in it's sda1.

obs.: I have Vista installed in sda1, but I don't want involve it in this backup&restore process

Environment:
* Windows Vista Enterprise 64 bits
* Clonezilla LiveCD 1.8.0.10-8-livecd

Said that, Is is possible to restore this sda2-image to sda1 of another hd?

by the way, I'm assuming that if it works, I'll have to fix the bootmgr - no problem with that.

Thanks,

Rafael

When you mentioned "1.8.0.10-8-livecd", I guess you mean 1.0.10-8. This function was added in the newer one, 1.1.0-8 Clonezilla live, you should try this. After you save an image, you can choose "restoreparts" to restore the partition image to different partition name in the target disk if the partition already exists.
If any problem, please let us know.

My mistake. I meant 1.0.10-8 actually. Thanks for the information. I'll be able to test it in a couple of days and then I'll update this thread. Cheers.
