Hi,

I am John Edmiston from the Asian Internet Bible
Institute and we wish to use ClassWeb to train
pastors. It will be running under Linux. I am very new
to Linux but its what my web hosting company is using.

First of all i want to tweak ClassWeb at home before
uploading to the web hosts server. I have installed
Mandrake 7.1 and I find I also have to have Apache web
server, MySql etc. Where do I get these? Are they
commonly avilable on Linux CD's? Will Apache froma
RedHat Cd work under Mandrake? As you can see I am
very new. Please email me aat johned@eomtc.com

Thanks and blessings,

John Edmiston

If Apache, MySQL, etc aren't on your Linux CD (I think they probably are), then you can find links to them
at http://classweb.ucla.edu/requirements.htm although it's probably easier to go to the update site for your
brand of Linux. I'm not a Linux admin either. These install instructions at
http://classweb.ucla.edu/install.htm give a MAPIS shell script to install Apache, MySQL, and PHP all
    together.

I don't know about Apache from a RedHat CD under Mandrake. Try it and see, or check the newsgroups.
    Good luck!

    first a quick hello...now
if u have drake installed yes u do have all u need, except that
maybe u have to start up the services...
like mysqld start, httpd start... etc
and your web pages go in /var/www/html

    that should get u going..
