We have attempted to import data via the csv import. There seems to be little documentation on the format requirements and little or no selection of the fields to be imported.
We have tried comma and tab delimited with no success. The program sometimes gives a sever error and other times we get a success but there is only a large number of periods when you select the family view.
Could use help.

The CSV import feature expects comma-separated fields. It helps to stage the data in a spreadsheet. I would recommend practicing with a small test file before trying to load a large file. It is best to fix any issues in the source data until the import runs cleanly.
Once you have chosen the file it should give you a page showing each column found in the file and giving you the option of assigning it to a field in the database. It will try to infer family relationships based on last name and address.
If you already have good family data somehow it may be easier to load the tables person_per and family_fam directly into phpMyAdmin.

OK, got a test file to load. Will now attempt to get the membership data from Membership Plus in a format that will load.
Thanks Michael for your prompt response.
