#3 freebsd gnomeConf.sh

I have gnome installed I was able to bring up the
desktop. I got the gnomeConf.sh not found.
freebsd 5.3 installs lignome i.e. version two libraries
from the net it appears that gnomeConf.sh is generated
in version 1.x. So I tried to install version 1.4.2. The
installed failed in building gtk-Xhtml
the error I got was Byte already defined in Xhtml.h.
further research into gtk-Xhtml refered to it as buggy.
Any ideas?
