The Chategory development team is proud to release the first alpha of the new Chategory 2. This non-feature complete release includes a core rewrite; user interface, security and stability enhancements, lower bandwith usage, bug fixes, and new features.

We invite testers to try out the software and leave us feedback. Feature requests and bug reports are very much appreciated!

Chategory (http://sourceforge.net/projects/chategory) is a PHP-powered, Ajax-enhanced chatting system. Basic chatting is available for all users, with extra enhancements for those with Javascript.

The Chategory Development Team is proud to announce the first release of Chategory on Sourceforge. Chategory is a PHP-powered chatting system. Unlike most chatting systems, however, it updates its content without page-reloading by utilizing AJAX technology. The core system can be used in many ways, including a complete chatting system and a shout box. This first release, however, is a simple chatroom. Our goal is for version 1.1, which will split the system into its central core, and allow us to create numerous chatting systems.
