CG Madness 1.3 released

CG Madness is based on the classic game Marble Madness. It is running on OpenGL and uses current techniques like light maps, bump-mapping and reflection shader. With all features available you can play the game with a cool looking metallic golf ball. It also has an editor where you can create your own levels. If you have done so and you want to share the level, you can upload it.

Finally this version with network multiplayer is released. One Player can host a game and other players can join it. For now there are no collisions and you get a lot of statistics after the game, so you can decide by yourself which defines the winner.... read more

CG Madness is based on the classic game Marble Madness. It is running on OpenGL and uses current techniques like light maps, bump-mapping and reflection shader. With all features available you can play the game with a cool looking metallic golf ball. It also has an editor where you can create your own levels. If you have done so and you want to share the level, you can upload it.

This Release has a new file format for level files. It allows holes in the ground or to have just a narrow catwalk to the destination. Also some user demands were implemented. So the manu is keyboard controlled now, and the high score list remembers the last name entered.... read more

CG Portals 0.2 alpha released

CG Portals is an extension of CG Madness, which itself is inspired by the classic game Marble Madness. But in CG Portals you will be able to throw Portals towards walls and/or floors, so you can reach unreachable places. It is running on OpenGL and uses current techniques like bump-mapping and reflection shader and of course portal rendering.

Unfortunately, you still cannot throw portals, but this release shows how “flinging” could look like, a technique that was introduced by Half-Life Portal. Also it is based on the latest code base of CG Madness.... read more

After an long time there is a new big release of CG Madness. The most visible new feature is the high score table for each level. Now you can select the level you want to play and repeat it until you have the best time possible. Or you play against you friends and you try to beat each others best time.... read more

Some time has passed since the last release but this release is just to show that there is still some development in progress. The most imported change to mention is the light map as a replacement for the shadow volumes. Now there are very soft shadow. You might not see them, but they make the scene look a lot more realistic.... read more

Because there is a new developer we release this minor update version to show the changes he brought with him to this project. Now the water looks much nicer and also reflects the environment. This gives the game a more realistic touch.... read more

This release features a nice environment, so you do not have to stare into an empty black space any more. It consists of a clouded sky and a simple water surface. Maybe in a later version this surface will look more like real water.... read more

CG Madness 1.0 released

CG Madness is a remake of classic game Marble Madness. It is running on OpenGL and uses current techniques like shadow volumes, bump-mapping and reflection shader. With all features available you can play the game with a cool looking metallic golf ball.

This is the first version meant to be called final. It brings an level editor with it to design own levels. But work is not over. Many improvements are planed. One of the next releases will feature a clouded sky to bring a nice atmosphere to the game.... read more
