Hello all, I've tested last year CruiseControl and CC-Config (I don't remember what versions), it was working great. Now I'm testing last version of both, and it seems that cc-config 1.7.1 (last version I've found on site) doesn't see cruise control server with 2.8.2 installed. Do you confirm? Or did I do a bad installation ? What is last version known to work with cc-config ? Thanks, Gérald |

Hi Allan, I've attached a patch to cc-config build.xml files that adds: fork="true" to the ant <javac> calls. When using the "/etc/alternatives" framework on linux (instead of having to set JAVA_HOME to a jdk), the fork attribute allows ant to find and use the javac linked into /usr/bin. This change would also make the build of CC complete on such machines (currently, the latest CC from svn dies when building cc-config, complaining about no javac found...) If you apply this patch, please let me know and I'll be sure to update the CC build to use the latest cc-config. Thanks! Dan |

Hi, I was trying to add and monitor my local server but got the error "Server info: Unavailable: Could not connect to URL: service:jmx:rmi://127.0.0.1:1099/jndi/jrmp". My PC has a firewall, but I'd added the ports 1099, 8000 and 8080 (bidirectional). What am I missing here? Thanks! Chengwei |

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered before or whether it's something easy to do from the command line. I searched the archives, bugs and features of CC-Config and I got zero matches for various variations on "minimize". I use Windows XP and am running CC-Config from the supplied startup.bat file. Is there any way to get CC-Config to start minimized to the system tray? Currently I can only get it to appear in a normal window with either the server or configuration displayed. I have two CruiseControl servers that have several projects each. All of the projects are shown in the Cruise Control Manager (1.7.1) display - except for one. There happens to be a project on each server that has the same name. This project only appears in the Cruise Control Manager display from one of the servers. Is this a bug in the tool?? Thanks. Gang Thanks in advance for your help. I want to set up my environment so that all maven deploy's are done from cruise control and not developer machines. I also would like to tag the source code in cvs when I do the mvn deploy with the approproate maven version number. In other words if my pom file looks like the following <?xml version="1.0"?> <project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd"> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> <groupId>com.foo.bar</groupId> <artifactId>mymodule</artifactId> <version>1.1.1</version> I'd like to issue "mvn scm:tag" with a lable like this " CCBUILD-mymodule-1.1.1". Can I do this? I've gurgled for more than an hour now and can't find anyone doing this. Thanks Mike |

Hi , I have the following scenario where by i have a minimum of 2 builds/tests running on different platforms, and if one of the builds fail it won't display the test results from the second build which ran and passed all it's tests . Is there a way I can display the test results for the above scenario. As it stands It will only display the results if all the builds are successful. Any suggestions greatly appreciated ! nano |

Are you trying to connect from a different machine than the one Cruise is running on? If so, does that machine have it's hosts file updated or is there a global DNS? Also, are you using the server name or the ip address for the Host Name in cc-config? Make sure that matches. -Al 许gj wrote: > Hi, > > Thanks Allan, I have tried that way, but it still can't work :< > > my hostname configuratin is as following(/etc/hosts): > ____________________________________________________ > 127.0.0.1 CIserver localhost.localdomain localhost > > The whole cruisecontrol.sh file as following: > _____________________________________________ > CCDIR=`pwd` > # Uncomment the following line if you have OutOfMemoryError errors > CC_OPTS="-Xms128m -Xmx256m -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=CIserver" > LIBDIR=$CCDIR/lib > # convert the existing path to unix > if [ `uname | grep -n CYGWIN` ]; then > JAVA_HOME=`cygpath --path --unix "$JAVA_HOME"` > fi > CRUISE_PATH=$JAVA_HOME/lib/tools.jar:$LIBDIR/cruisecontrol.jar:$LIBDIR/cruisecontrol-launcher.jar:$LIBDIR/log4j.jar:$LIBDIR/jdom.jar:$LIBDIR/ant.jar:$LIBDIR/ant-launcher.jar:$LIBDIR/jasper-compiler.jar:$LIBDIR/jasper-runtime.jar:$LIBDIR/xercesImpl-2.8.0.jar:$LIBDIR/xml-apis-2.8.0.jar:$LIBDIR/xmlrpc-2.0.1.jar:$LIBDIR/saxon8.jar:$LIBDIR/saxon8-dom.jar:$LIBDIR/serializer-2.7.0.jar:$LIBDIR/jakarta-oro-2.0.3.jar:$LIBDIR/mail.jar:$LIBDIR/junit.jar:$LIBDIR/activation.jar:$LIBDIR/commons-net-1.1.0.jar:$LIBDIR/starteam-sdk.jar:$LIBDIR/mx4j.jar:$LIBDIR/mx4j-tools.jar:$LIBDIR/mx4j-remote.jar:$LIBDIR/smack.jar:$LIBDIR/comm.jar:$LIBDIR/x10.jar:$LIBDIR/fast-md5.jar:$LIBDIR/maven-embedder-2.0.4-dep.jar:$LIBDIR/javax.servlet.jar:$LIBDIR/org.mortbay.jetty.jar:$LIBDIR/commons-logging.jar:$LIBDIR/commons-el.jar:$LIBDIR/cc-configuration.war:. > # convert the existing path to unix > if [ `uname | grep -n CYGWIN` ]; then > CRUISE_PATH=`cygpath --path --windows "$CRUISE_PATH"` > fi > EXEC="$JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/java $CC_OPTS -cp $CRUISE_PATH > -Djavax.management.builder.initial=mx4j.server.MX4JMBeanServerBuilder > CruiseControlWithJetty $@ -jmxport 8000 -webport 80 -rmiport 1090" > echo $EXEC > exec $EXEC > _____________________________________________ > I connect to the CI server under Windows XP, But it still show: Server > Info: Unavailable > Is there anything I missed? look forward your help, thx : ) > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > Date: Wed, 11 Apr 2007 20:50:04 -0500 > > From: al...@wi... > > To: xg...@ho... > > CC: cc-...@li... > > Subject: Re: [Cc-config-users] About cc-config connect to CI server > under linux > > > > Take a look at the FAQ for the cc-config tool. Take a look at the FAQ for the cc-config tool. It has a property that needs to be added for some linux configurations. http://cc-config.sf.net/user_manual/faq.html -Al 许gj wrote: > Hi, > > I am a new user of cruisecontrol, I have set my CI server under > linux, and want to set cc-config to connect to the CI server. > but there seems some problems. > > My Configuration as following: > Server Name: CI server > Host name 10.*.*.* > RMI Port 1090 > Reproting Server prot 8000 > Monitor Time(sec) 60 > > The last line of curisecotrol.sh is: > EXEC="$JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/java $CC_OPTS -cp $CRUISE_PATH > -Djava.security.policy=ci.policy > -Djavax.management.builder.initial=mx4j.server.MX4JMBeanServerBuilder > CruiseControlWithJetty $@ -jmxport 8000 -webport 80 -rmiport 1090" > > I can ping that server, > and I check that port by nmap -p 1090 *.*.*.* the feedback is: > ____________________________________________________________________________ > Starting nmap 3.81 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2007-04-11 > 21:57 CST > Interesting ports on CIserver (*.*.*.*): > PORT STATE SERVICE > 1090/tcp open unknown > Nmap finished: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.163 seconds > _____________________________________________________________________________ > > But the cc-config told me: *Server Info: Unavailable * > > I set my CI server under windows XP, I find it can work. so I confused > what's the matter? > I look forward your help, thanks ahead! > > Best Regards > > Gary Xu > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > 中国十大热门旅游景点 了解更多信息! > <http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=%E4%B8%AD%E5%9B%BD%E5%8D%81%E5%A4%A7%E9%A3%8E%E6%99%AF&mkt=zh-CN&form=QBRE> > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys. John, Thanks for the follow-up. I believe that the config file didn't have all the required fields filled in or wrong combination, not malformed. John, I think something changed with the way errors are reported from cruise. The error you get is because there is something wrong with the configuration you have selected in the wizard. Try checking the cruisecontrol.log file on the server to see what the problem is. I will try to make the message more meaningful. -Al John Thomas wrote: > Al, > > The change in the startup class made a difference. Not sure if I already replied, but there is no way to just load the file anymore. You need to connect to a running instance of cruisecontrol and access the file that way. See instructions starting on the following page. http://cc-config.sf.net/user_manual/index.html. You will also need to change the startup view to monitoring. You can do that by using the View|Preferences... menu option. John, Would you try changing the last line of the startup.sh file to be: $JAVA -Darch4j.suppress.constants.message=true net.sourceforge.cruisecontrol.gui.SystemStartup Let me know if that works...
