save to file is planned and in implementation. repeat previous selection for capture is an interesting idea. Cntrl-Alt-PrintScreen might be of help to you on the windows platform, it only captures the active window.

yeah, that should be doable. look for it the save and recapture in the next release. unfortunately the native tie ins still need to be written for other platforms, so being truly cross platform is a little bit further away.

save has been in the works for a while. plan is to add a button 'save' next to 'copy' and 'cancel', (note: the order will also change with the next release to put copy closest to the mouse, save next, then cancel. The buttons placement will also change, they will be placed in a corner closest to where you mouse up'd and only move into the selection area if needed).
upon clicking save the user will be prompted where to save, defaulting to their home dir or last place of save. Long term on the road map is a user preference to auto pick a destination based user selection of a counter or timestamp for filename.
repeat selected area capture isn't as flushed out. I was thinking another keyboard shortcut and tray menu item that silently captures the previously captured area and decides to save or copy to clipboard based on what was done with the previous capture. An error message if no capture was previously made during that application run.
comments and suggestions welcome...
Implemented with 0.3 is duplicate capture. Control-Shift-D by default will select the same area as the previous selection. Save in jpg and png format was also implemented. Writing the duplicate area straight to a file with no user interaction was not implemented and leaving open because of that.
