A utility to calculate the center of presented area of the geometric target description is needed. Various regions of the geometry may be excluded (user selectable) from the computation (i.e. do not want the gun tube to be included for a tank).

Status update. This feature was implemented by one of our Google Summer of Code students that was accepted to participate with us this year. The student (andrecastelo) implemented CPA as his patch requirement (all applicants had to submit some non-trivial code modification). The change is being reviewed/tested and if all goes well, it should be in the 7.14.0 release later this CY (Q1FY08).

The GSoC effort was merged in, reviewed, and improved upon by r_weiss and indianlarry, subsequently getting released in 7.14.6, so closing this request out.
