Simulation Engine Preview

Simulation Engine Preview is now available

Preview of Simulation Engine is available. It is bundled as a ready to use package, that consists of following:

• Apache Tomcat 6
• Singavio Modeler
• Simulation Engine with Activiti adapter

There are two packages available:

• simulation-preview-activiti.zip
• simulation-preview-signavio.zip

Functionality wise they are exactly the same, the difference is in look and feel of the modeler application and simulation reports.

What's available to use

As name indicates, it is preview, more over, first one. So it has limited capabilities that in general are as follows:

Supported BPMN2 constructs and their simulation attributes

• start event
  • duration
• end event
  • duration
• exclusive gateway
  • duration
• parallel gateway
  • duration
• sequence flow
  • probability
• user task
  • duration
  • staff availability
  • resource cost per time unit
  • working hours per day for the defined staff
• other tasks
  • duration

Caution: Workflow Patterns are not supported at this point in time, especially loops modeled with sequence flows can lead to unexpected behavior. Preview supports only one direction flows.

Installation

• download one of the preview packages (activiti or default signavio)
• unpack the package
• specify location of modeler repository location - modify file located under
  TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/signaviocore/WEB_INF/classes/configuration.properties
• start Tomcat server using Java 1.6
• open browser and point it to http://localhost:8080/signaviocore/p/explorer

and you're ready to go - enjoy.

NOTE: Simulation Engine requires Java 1.6 to function properly
