I'm wishing for tape drive support in bochs. Currently, the only filesystem available on seemingly every system is msdos, so working with Darwin and FreeBSD and Linux, and trying to easily transfer files without dealing with network configuration involves msdos formatted disk images to use. But a tape drive would provide a better and easier method for transfering files(since at least for Unix, it's generally already a tar or tar gzip file) easily. Plus easier "hotswapping" of "tapes" would allow changing which file to provide access too.

There are no plans to implement this device emulation.
