Agreed. At my current job we have many field
applications required to configure embedded devices
that monitor our oil and gas wells. These vendors have
just recently developed win32 based applications.
However even these new versions hardly run under
Windows XP or 2000 instead preferring 95/98, which due
to virus outbreaks have been removed from our
domain.... Really need to get these legacy apps working
but cannot get anyone to cough up the dough for
commercial vms...
Great program guys, I've used it personally many times.
Keep up the good work. I can code, but nowhere neer the
scale that you all have!

I would like to add my vote for this as well. The Bochs
application provides a very useable interface for those of us
in the industrial sector that still have legacy apps requiring
either DOS or Win9x. I have used Bochs to get me out of
trouble on almost all counts, but the serial port access under
a WIN2K or XP host remains a major roadblock for us. Bochs
seems the ideal way to add legacy support to Microsoft's
drive to eliminate legacy support. Thanks for all of your
efforts, we certainy are looking forward to seeing comms
support as soon as you can make it happen.

I have the same problem!
It would be very helpful, if Bochs would offer a solution
for this.

Raw serial support for Windows is under construction, but it should be implemented for other platforms, too.

I need this feature badly because i have a legacy program that requires the serial port for communication and it does not work except on DOS
thanks a lot
Bump!
How is it going with this? I tried to use bochs with raw @win32 but than it said it isn't supported. Support with UART emulation would be really great.
Continue the good work. In the meantime I'll have to try it with linux...VMWare and others don't emulate serial port correctly.
